Does anyone know this Perpatah Melayu? “Jauh
Perjalan, Luas Pengalaman” How true it is? For me, it has very deep meaning
and certainly true. Not all were lucky to get the opportunity.
Therefore I’m very grateful to ALLAH to be able to enjoy it.
Almost 90% of Malaysia's people like to travel. Either Cuti-Cuti Malaysia or ke luar negara. Each time when there are
public holidays, people will take this opportunity to go travel/holiday with family or
friends. As Malaysians, we are lucky to have many public holidays. It is not surprising that the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia has
launched the Cuti-Cuti Malaysia. There are many interesting places in
Malaysia can be visited. Now with low-cost aircraft (Airasia) some way help the
people of Malaysia to fly much further but of course planning ahead is very
important otherwise the price is not that cheap.
With the existence of low-cost aircraft, I had the opportunity to travel
oversea with less cost, coincide with their slogan “Everybody Can Fly”. I can say
I'm really fortunate because at early age almost all states in Malaysia I have
been visited. My Arwah Abah love to travel and every time when school holiday he
will bring us whole family “Jalan jalan
makan angin”. Often we will stay with relatives.
Beside “Jalan-jalan makan angin” or
“Cuti-cuti Malaysia” first country I’ve visited was Japan in year 1990. At
that time I just completed my form 5. Coincidentally my cousin sister worked
there. We are very close and she suggested or I can say she sponsored me lah for a vacation there for 2
months....lama tu. At that time she was expecting her second baby and not
really well. In the presence of me a little bit more ease her burden. When I
was there, my cousin sister has brought me to visit many places such as
Disneyland, Mount Fuji, Harajuku Street and many more especially Theme Park. In
Japan there are a lot of nice and enjoyable Theme Park. One thing that will
never be forgotten, during my stay I gain weight...hahaha a lot! Japanese food is
really marvelous and apparently my cousin brother, he’s a good cook. Funny part
was my parent doesn’t even recognize me bila balik Malaysia....gemukkksss
Second country I have visited is Thailand (Phuket) in year 1997. If not
mistaken end of the year because I have just gave birth to Nurin and she was 4
months at that time. Actually, it was my husband “Company Trip”.
In 1998 I had the opportunity to go to China (Shanghai). The trip was organized
by Microsoft. I have won a holiday ticket with 2 more colleagues for
successfully sell Microsoft's (Achieve Quota). Overall there are 30 people in
our group. Shanghai City was so modern and beautiful. We got the opportunity to
visit tea farm, fresh water pearl factory and their culture village.
In year 2004, my best friend asked me to accompany her to Vietnam (Ho Chi
Min). Tidak lepas peluang, ikutttt.... she’s
doing part time business by taking goods from there. When you are in Ho Chin
Min, must go place is definitely Ben Thanh Market. It is a large
marketplace in the downtown area of Ho Chi Min City. You can find almost anything here, from
shoes to clothes to bags, to candies, flowers, fruits and one thing you have to
know bargain are hard and some negotiating skills are necessary. I can say this is a right place for shopaholic.
For the first time I went to Indonesia (Bandung) in year 2006. The most
memorable trip. I’m not only with my family but also my bff and their families,
22 of us including my Mak and Kak Yati. We charter a large bus. It is true what
people say, Bandung is a City of shopping...heavenly. Besides shopping we went
to Puncak, situated between Bandung and Jakarta. This is where Safari the “Asian African”
located. The kids was so happy, they can see many animals. We also
do not miss the chance to see Anglung Mat Udjo show. Since then I will at least
twice a year make a visit to Bandung or Jakarta. Really fall in love with the
city and especially the food. Jakarta and Bandung now is just like my second
home.

January 2010, I have my trip (Bag pack) to Europe. Initially on this trip I
would go with Azman and 2 more friends. However, eight months before departure,
Azman has been diagnosed with cancer. The date that we supposed to go, Azman
was half way under Chemotherapy which not allowed him to travel. However, he
does not prevent me from continuing the trip. At first of course I felt guilty
and sad to leave him but this opportunity really cannot be rejected.
Furthermore the air ticket already purchased.
Me -Venice
We began our trip from KL-London-Italy (Rome / Florence / Bergamo / Milan)-Venice-Austria-Switzerland-Paris
and back to London. Of course this experience is extremely beautiful. At that
time was winter and for the first time I saw snow in Austria....speechless.
Me - Lake Como, Milan
End of 2010, Azman completed his 2nd time Chemotherapy due to cancer
relapse at his lung & bladder. We decided to go for holiday and this time
our destination is Bali. We stayed at the hotel near Kuta. I think I have made a
mistake by chosen hotel near there. This area is a prime and busy place. If
there are other opportunities, Seminyak will be in my list. Bali is a nice
place. Highly recommended for newlywed for their honeymoon.
Me, Sister & Aina - Bali
This year is a tough year for my kids. Aina will seat for her PMR exam this
coming September and Asna her UPSR exam in August. So we decided to go for
“Cuti-cuti Malaysia” saja. Last school holiday, we went to Kuantan and stayed
in Hyatt for 3 days.
Tough year for the kids but NOT me hehehehe...I had my ME TIME with cousin
and sister in Bangkok, February 2012. We spend 3 days 2 nights there. We do not
have the chance to go for massage since this is our first time and really not
sure where is the best place. Honestly I
do not really like Bangkok
except for their silk. However,
that's not important the most important is when you are accompanied by the
people you love.
